  1. Prepare 1 cup brown rice
  2. Make ready 1/2 cup splits grams
  3. Make ready 1/3 cup splits green gram skinned

  6. Take 1/4 tsp baking soda
  7. Prepare 3-4 tsp garlic paste

  11. Get As needed oil to grease
Steps to make Brown rice dhokla:
  1. Soak rice, and both splits grams for at least 3 hours. Then crush them in a mixture with adding buttermilk/curd. Make thick paste like batter as we will mix purée with it later.Cover it and keep it in a warm place for 3 hours to get fermented. Add salt and garlic paste. Make purée of all three vegetables. In a batter add baking soda and mix it well.
  2. Mix batter in three different puree and keep one part as a plain batter. So make total four colors batter. Pre heat a steam cooker. In a steam cooker grease the plate with oil and fill batter upto shallo level go even. Let it boil for the time when it rise to double.To check weather it’s cooked properly deep a knife and bring it out. If stuff is not stickng it means it cooked. Remove it with a knife after it got little cool.
