Prepare bread slices
Get sooji (semolina)
Make ready onion, chopped
Prepare ginger, grated

In a bowl, mix together all the above mentioned ingredients starting from sooji to garam masala.
Heat 1 tbsp. oil and temper with mustard seeds and asafoetida. Allow it to splutter and then pour this tempering over the semolina mix. Combine everything well into a thick batter. Keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.
Spread 1/4 of the batter on each bread.
Heat 1 tbsp, oil in a griddle / tawa and shallow fry the batter side first on a medium flame for a minute or two till it turns light golden in colour.
Flip it over and fry the other side too. Transfer to a serving plate. Fry rest of the bread in the similar way with the semolina spread.
Cut them as desired and enjoy for breakfast or as a tea-time snack or with green chutney / ketchup.
